CHRISTMAS DANCE 2019
Our Christmas Dance was well attended as usual with 85 members including our friends from Blenheim. The hall was decorated with lights and had a festive look about it. Route 66 kept our feet tapping throughout the night. During the evening Marie entertained us with a Christmas song and the “Girls“, Anita, Susan, Carol and Christina, did a take on Tina Turner. The raffle consisted of 3 Christmas hampers provided by the members which were greatly appreciated by the winners. Santa and his helper, Errol and Daryl, distributed chocolate to the crowd. Supper was up to its usual standard and was appreciated by the company. All in all it was a very good night and the committee should be congratulated on a job well done. Thanks to all who set up the hall and cleared away afterwards. Thankyou for Posting Stan.

CHRISTMAS FUN SUNDAY DEC.2019
At the beginning of December a Christmas Fun Sunday was held at Willowbank, a privately owned historic village south of Wakefield. Some members travelled to the event in there classic cars. Everyone made the effort to dress up and gave demonstrations of Rocknroll which was appreciated by the public. Some enjoyed "High Tea" while others enjoyed "spiders", hamburgers, coffee's etc. From Willowbank many of the group then went for a meal at The Wakefield Hotel where 2 Father Christmas's arrived although one looked like an elf trying to be Father Christmas or was it Father Chrismas's Son!!! We still dont know. Below are a couple of photos and the rest are on the Gallery.

“LOOKING BACK” 20th Birthday Dance
Dancing, memories and laughter!!!!!!
On Saturday night 14th September, Sun City Rockers held their 20th Birthday Dance at Club Waimea. Close to 120 attended. People danced the night away to band “Route 66”. The hall was decorated to look like a beautiful “Winter Wonderland” lit up with hundreds of lights creating a superb atmosphere. Extra large photo boards had been made, and were on display showcasing a selection of the fun events and happenings within Sun City Rockers over the past 20 years. Events included the golf day/BBQ (with green theme), train trip, “Grease” themed dance, Nationals and the Cabaret evening. A photo booth was set up with a black and white theme, dominant, where many people had their photos taken. A small movie theatre was created in a corner of the hall and a continuous video was played of past social occasions. This created many funny and interesting memories (along with a few tears). The founding members and life members were acknowledged in setting up Sun City Rockers 20 years ago. The present committee and helpers, who assisted in the preparations for the night were also acknowledged and thanked. A delicious supper was served and of course the 20th Birthday cake was enjoyed by most.
A fantastic night to celebrate “20 years of Sun City Rockers”.
